The DoubleTree by Hilton Nouméa Îlot Maître Resort is a secluded getaway located on Îlot Maître, a small island around a 30-minute boat ride off the coast of Noumea.

Accommodation is split between air-conditioned bungalows with garden and beach views plus the more expensive overwater bungalows. All rooms all come with comfortable king-size beds, a work desk, a sofa bed, a 140cm (55″) television, tea and coffee making facilities, a small fridge, and an en suite bathroom with a rainfall shower. The garden and beach bungalows are a spacious spacious 36m² (387 sq ft) and they also have a small outdoor seating area.

At 53m² (570 sq ft), the overwater bungalows are even larger and they have two TVs, a 114cm (45″) television in the bedroom plus a 140cm (55″) TV in the living area, and there are ocean views from all windows plus a 14m² (151 sq ft) outdoor deck. The en suite bathroom is massive and has a separate bath tub and shower and there is also a second shower outside.

There are several options for eating and drinking in the resort, which is a good thing considering that the next closest dining options are a 30-minute boat ride away. Dining options include Restaurant l’Escapade, where you can enjoy a buffet breakfast, lunch or dinner and Beach Café La Boussole, which serves light meals in a casual dining environment. Drinking options include the restaurant and cafe plus the Sunset Bar the Pool Bar.

In addition to the on-site bars and restaurants, hotel facilities include a large swimming pool, a business centre and a fitness centre.

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available in your bungalow and in the public areas throughout the resort.

The resort is on Îlot Maître, which is a small island a 30-minute boat ride from the centre of Nouméa. The island is only 700m x 150m and there is nothing else on the island other than the hotel and a marine reserve. This means that it is ideal if you’re looking to get away from it all but it may not be the best choice if you have come to New Caledonia to experience local culture.

The boat transfer is free of charge for guests and it is possible take the boat as often as you want, not just at the beginning and end of your stay, and some guests take the boat every day to take advantage of the sights and more varied dining options in Nouméa.
